Building a slackbuild for a precompiled binary
There's a certain program I use a lot that is distributed only as a precompiled binary, and it is a 32bit-only application. The tarball it comes in contains the application directory, the binary itself, and a couple empty directories that are used by the application itself. A slackbuild doesn't exist for it so I thought I'd try my hand at making one.
All the slackbuild tutorials I can find only explain how to make a slackbuild that compiles from source. Can anyone explain to me or point me to a tutorial that will show me how to make a slackbuild that will just create a package that drops the untarred directory into /opt, downloads a certain image file (an icon) into the directory and uses it for the menu entry, and places the menu entry under GAMES? thanks! |
you can take a look at several slackbuilds that just repackage the upstream provided binary
