Broken symlinks in '/' dir after compile and checkinstall
So with alot of software (seem to be alot of libs) a bunch of broken symlinks show up in '/' after compiling and installing with checkinstall. I usually just './configure --prefix=/usr && make' then a 'checkinstall -SyA i686' as root. Can somebody please tell me what I'm doing wrong...
Thanks. |
You are doing nothing wrong. It 's checkinstall fault. You can saftly remove all installed
files you see in the top /. I guess Makefiles that do libs symlinks are hard to read for checkinstall But there is a long time, I do see this thing happen, did you upgrade to the latest version ? |
what version are you using? I had this problem for awhile but haven't had it for awhile ( I started grabbing the checkinstall out of the /extra directory on slack mirrors).

You're right. I grabbed it from /extra and it doesn't do it anymore. I guess it was a wrong build because it's the same version.
Thanks guys. |
