I installed Slackware 14.1 on an Acer E11 (ES1-111M-C7DE) laptop. The install went fine and boots fine into both the command line and KDE with startx. My laptop does not seem to recognize the built in Broadcom wifi card (a Broadcom bcm43142, I believe). I did install the SlackBuilds broadcom-sta drivers and tried to reboot both with and without a blacklist modprobe file per the Slackbuilds broadcom-sta info, but still no luck.
Any ideas or suggestions? I do need wifi on this laptop and obviously want to stick with Slackware.
For the broadcom-sta package to work you will need to blacklist the b43 and ssb modules.
nano /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
add the following to that file:
blacklist b43
blacklist ssb
save and exit the file and then reboot. If your wireless card needs the wl kernel module that should get things running. I have the 4312 wireless card and that's what works for me.

Done that as I mentioned, briefly, in my original post, but still no luck.
