Broadband Question...


Ma SlackMachine connets to the net, using a USB cable modem. Under linux to connect to the net gotta give the command

bash> dhcpcd eth1

and yahoo away we go...

but once i finnished is there a away to stop this connection... so no more access to the...

Perhaps,

root@foo#> ifconfig eth1 down

killall dhcpcd
This will close the dhcpcd daemon. If you after issuing this command still have an ip address you can bring down the device with the command mentioned by 187807. That will do I guess.
