bootsplash and slack 9.1

I was trying to get bootsplash to work on my Slack 9.1 box and when I patch the kernel it doesn't allow me to change what I need using 'make menuconfig'. I am just having a hard time overall I guess. Any Ideas or intructions?

Thanks

A Slacker

did you read EVERYTHING on that site.......specifically the "kernel stuff" page
Quote:
Requirements
* You need to have a working framebuffer device with 16bit colordepth, preferably vesafb (i.e. vga=0x317 for 1024x768)
This is the First thing on the requirements list, if your not using Framebuffer, then bootsplash won't work!!
