boot time is slowly

Hello, all.

I have upgraded slackware version 14.0.
Then boot time is slowly.

# dmesg
--------------------------------
...
[ 9.746133] i2400m_usb 2-1.5:1.0: WiMAX interface wmx0 (00:1d:e1:4e:9c:4a) ready
[ 40.947422] i2400m_usb 2-1.5:1.0: boot-mode cmd -1: error waiting for an ack: -4
[ 40.947499] i2400m_usb 2-1.5:1.0: bootrom init failed: -4
[ 40.947550] i2400m_usb 2-1.5:1.0: i6050-fw-usb-1.5.sbcf: cannot use: -4, skipping
[ 40.947754] i2400m_usb 2-1.5:1.0: Could not find a usable firmware image
[ 40.947849] i2400m_usb 2-1.5:1.0: cannot bootstrap device: -4
[ 40.960755] i2400m_usb 2-1.5:1.0: cannot setup device: -4
[ 40.962889] i2400m_usb: probe of 2-1.5:1.0 failed with error -4
[ 40.965026] usbcore: registered new interface driver i2400m_usb
...
---------------------------------

Why does boot time is slowly?

That firmware file which is mentioned in "dmesg" is part of the kernel-firmware package of Slackware 14. Two possible causes for your errors that I can see:

Are you using the Slackware generic kernel with an initial ramdisk? In that case you have to copy the missing firmware file "/lib/firmware/i2400m-fw-usb-1.5.sbcf" from your filesystem into the initrd:
Code:

# mkdir /boot/initrd-tree/lib/firmware
# cp -ia /lib/firmware/i2400m-fw-usb-1.5.sbcf /boot/initrd-tree/lib/firmware
# mkinitrd
# lilo

Or, if you are not using an initrd, perhaps you forgot to upgrade the kernel-firmware package?

Try #lilo -c

thx Alien Bob, ewlabonte!

I'm using kernel-firmware-20120804git-noarch-1.

I don't want to change in my environment.
So first way is not do.

lilo -c is not effective

I now avert issue following way:
--------------------------------------------------------
" adding blacklist i2400m_usb
# vim /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
-> blacklist i2400m_usb

" adding rc.local
# vim /etc/rc.d/rc.local
-> /sbin/modprobe i2400m_usb
--------------------------------------------------------

this issue solved.

best regards.
