Boot Messages

What file do I need to see in order to see all of the messages which appear at boot. I looked at the /var/log/messages and it only gave me certain but not all of the messages. Thanks.

Che,
I did not really find an answer to this.
You might like to read a thread I started:
'dmesg doesn't show everything'

Enter "dmesg" as **root**

Or, even better, enter "dmesg | less", as root, to scroll up/down the list of messages.

You'll see everything that was displayed by the system as it boots. If it's not in the dmesg, it's not a system message... Maybe a message from an alien? :D

Seriously, though, trust me: dmesg displays everything. ;)
