Black screen with VBoxLinuxAdditions

Hello,

To make some tests I have installed a Slackware 14.0 32 bits in Guest in Virtualbox 4.2.12, from a Fedora 18 64 bits.

When I install VBoxLinuxAdditions, modules are OK, everything is "done", the scroll mouse works (doesn't work before), but at the reboot I get a black screen, I have to remove Additions to boot Slackware.

I did not find suspect logs in "messages", nor in "Xorg.0.log".

Some ideas ? Thank you.

You might want to take VirtualBox to VirtualBox-4.2.14 (the current version), 64-bit on the Fedora host (fixed some problems in 4.2.12). Also, on the Slackware 32-bit 14.0 guest, install all the patches -- don't know if the kernel upgrade will be necessary but it probably wouldn't hurt to do that, too (don't forget to run lilo before you reboot Slackware if you do the kernel upgrade). Make sure the extension pack is installed.

When you boot Slackware, you ought to be able to install the guest additions, reboot Slackware and you ought to be good to go. Let it boot into run level 3 (so you have a console) and don't startx until you've got everything installed and updated.

Hope this helps some.
