I've got it working in every other distro with fwcutter. Would it be the same approach in slack also? I also cant get my ethernet card working which is Intel PRO 100 Network Adapter.
yes it should work, and check if e100 is loaded - it should be in the stock kernel as my laptop has a version of that card in it - try /sbin/modprobe eepro100
where can i find fwcutter for slackware? It seems that i cant find any software slack. Maybe im looking in the wrong place. I just found another problem when I connect a usb device (psp which i use as a flash drive and a removable floppy drive) it says theres a security policy in place that prevents this sender from sending this message.
There is a topic on the top of this forum called "12.0 and HAL - READ THIS!". You should read it. Related to fwcutter on Slackware, there is no official package, but you can download the source and compile it just fine. You don't even need to install it to cut the firmware. Place the firmware inside /lib/firmware.
