BCM4312 install Slackware

Hi all,
I have googled this and have not found anything clear.

I have the dreaded BCM4312 chipset and was wondering how others with this chipset got it to work.

Works fine here with fwcutter and firmware from slackbuilds.org.

Ok thanks,
I have the driver installed, and wicd is showing that networks are available. When I try to connect, it is rejecting my WPA passphrase. Is this a common issue with this driver?

Also, I LOVE the SlackBuilds system, reminds me of ports when I tried FreeBSD :)

I think this card doesn't support WPA2. I got this problem as well in Windows and Slackware. WPA is fine but not WPA2.

Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Sorry, my post is wrong; I am using WPA, not WPA2. However, I have used WPA2 on Debian with this card whilst at uni.

Hi,

Your wifi should work with 13.37. You will need to get the firmware as others have suggested. Once you do then be sure that '/etc/rc.d/rc.inet1.conf' is at original install state if you wish to use 'wicd'.

Hi,
I have looked at my
Code:

rc.inet1.conf
file, and all of the references to my wlan0 device are commented out. Is this what you meant by "original install state"?

Thanks.
Jack
