background startup screen

i'm trying to customize my laptop running slackware 10.2 with kernel 2.6.10
and lilo 22.5.9.

Is there a way i can set a background picture while slackware is loading? If so, is there also a way to set a background for the bash prompt? (init 3)

That is possible but with kernel patching and some modifications in
the /etc/rc.d/ init scripts
