Audacity vs. Wxwidgets

I have problem with compiling latest version 1.32 of Audacity using my current Slack.
During configuration step it looks for wxwigdets ver. 2.6, but mine is 2.83.

I see (www.slacky.eu) that other Audacity (20061223) version can use the latest wxwidgets but I cannot find the sources even on the Audacity's home page......

Any ideas folks ?

I think you can get audacity and it's dependencies from www.SlackBuilds.org .

audacity doesn't need wxwidgets. disable it with ./configure

EDIT: sorry, confused it with audacious

It requires I think
A phrase from:

audacity.sourceforge.net/download/beta_source

states clearly that wxwidgets is required for audacity 1.3.2

I wonder why my fresh compiled version of wxwidgets (2.83) is not usable by this version of audacity.

What about later version of it named "Audacity 20061223" ?
Slackbuild of it is ready to use at www.slacky.eu , but I cannot find its sources ....
