apache + php -> what else?

I did a fresh install of slackware 10.1(I did a full install)

php, mysql and apache are installed but apache doesn't seem integrated with php

a page with
Code:
<html><?php
phpinfo();
?></html>
gives a blank page

what else should I install?

Try removing the 2 html tags and just leaving the php, also make sure you give the file a php extension./

I already tried removing html tags and this time when I say "http://localhost/index.php" to browser it just shows me the index.php as a text file, so i see
Code:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>

In that case it looks like the php module isn't being loaded. Do you have a php loadmodule line in httpd.conf?

Is your line "Include /etc/apache/mod_php.conf" in "/etc/apache/httpd.conf" uncommented. I also uncommented the line "Include /etc/apache/mod_ssl.conf" in my httpd.conf. I don't remember anymore why I did that; not sure if it helped, but that is the only diff between my httpd.conf original and current on Slackware 10.0.
