Anyone using XGL/Compiz on Slack?

Having seen some lovely videos of 3d accelerated desktops, complete with OpenGL and video playback in them, I'd like to get it going on my slack box too.

Has anyone done this? What would be the steps involved... I'd rather not break my nice KDE desktop if possible ;-)

I see the new Nvidia drivers support AIGLX! Awesome..

..but how do I go about getting modular X.org 7.1 installed?

Thanks

lazydragon is a (Big) Slackware-based distro which include Xgl/compiz.

I'm not exactly sure how Catman managed to pack Xgl, but you could ask him. You can send him an email via the "Contact Us" section in the LazyD. web page or in the "Old Front Page" appears his e-mail.

I have X11R7 build scripts if your interested. They could probably use a little more polishing but work as is. I got burned out on the whole thing.

So, what's the deal? Does xgl require xorg-7? I've been wondering myself. I believe it does.
