i have downloaded 8.1 , but it,s too large to fit on a regular cd-r. someone said to delete gnome , i can,t even find it on the iso image, also, i am not sure if i did find gnome that i could delete it from a image.

yeah some places have split the iso in two because of that problem, u can get the two separate ISOs here: http://ftp.eu.net/pub/linux/slackware/current-iso/

but gnome is in this DIR of the ISO
/SLACKWAR/GNOME/ u can delete using "ISO Buster" in windows, but i dont know how to delete it in linux.......

have your tryed to over burn the ISO on an 80 min disc?
or is it too big for that?

Ya, on the gnome thing, what I have done is made one image of the install cd - gnome and kde, and one with just gnome and kde. The best way to make an iso of the current tree is to follow the directions in the readme file in the isolinux directory. You will need to download the isolinux, kernels, and slackware directory from the tree to make the image. All the other directories aren't needed.

I made an iso the other day...and the day after they announced rc2 so I haven't bothered installing.
