Anyone that understand about font rendering please

Something I always noticed but never went to investigate is why fonts under TED looks so horrible.

Example: http://www.ted.com/talks/aakash_oded...wind_and_light

I um using Chrome on both Windows and Slackware, 39.0.2171.71, and it looks like idk, blurry (not the best for this)? on both systems so I'd assume is something with Chrome.

Anyone know how could I improve that?

This is from the css, so I guess you don't have a good Helvetica font installed.

Code:
font-family: "Helvetica Neue Custom","Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;

Did you install the webcore-fonts SlackBuild, remove /etc/fonts/conf.d/60-liberation.conf, and run "fc-cache -f -v"?
