Anyone have a installation howto?


anyone have an installation howto for a "Sigma Designs, Inc. REALmagic Hollywood Plus DVD Decoder", I can't seem to find anything or anyone who has one installed and working.

xf86config

Sorry, I do not remember precisely, what I did in this situation. It seams, that as a root I merely typed xf86config . Before doing that you should know two frequencies for your terminal : horizontal an vertical.

Is there a version for Linux? The page I went to says win 9x and me.

Where did you get the program from?

A group of Linux-minded developers have begun hacking and reverse-engineering this hardware.

However, Sigma Designs doesn't seem to support Linux. As you're a customer of this piece of hardware, you can contact Sigma Designs and ask for support for Linux for their hardware. If enough customers raise their voice maybe someday they'll listen. Hey it's worth a try!

Ooops sorry Cropcircle - that was aimed at Phishman3579, I was hoping to get some clues by seeing how and where he got it from.

ok... I got installed, thanks everyone... but now where I output with mplayer thru the S-Video the whole picture is green. I tried varying the modules options but nothing has worked. Anyone else had this problem?

BTW, I used this line to play the video... and i've played it before onto the monitor and it is in color.

mplayer -vo dxr3:/dev/em8300_mv -ao oss:/dev/em8300_ma
