anyone compiled OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 from source?

I downloaded the five Linux source files from the OO website and I'll be attempting to install when I get back to my computer. Has anyone herre done this already? How difficult is it to get running correctly?

You might encounter a minor glitch or two:

I have done so on 2 machines (one x86 and one amd64) using the Slackbuild from slackbuilds.org

It was easy, even tailoring to to a localized version is simple. You shouldn't have any trouble if you go that route...

The OpenOffice Slackbuild does not build from source. It builds from pre-compiled rpm packages.

GSB has a source-compiled version of Openoffice, you can take a look at the SlackBuild

Set aside several hours. I compiled one of the 3.1 series for x86-64 en_GB. It works but it is not really worth the huge download and the age to compile. So I just use the slackbuilds.org version.
