Amarok on Current 64 - aac m4a

Amarok won't play m4a files for me even though they play fine with Juk, ffplay, moc, Audacious, etc. Up to date current 64. Any thoughts? I can find no option to turn aac on or off in Amarok.
Code:

donnie@toshiba64:~$ locate libfaad
/usr/lib64/libfaad.so.2.0.0
/usr/lib64/libfaad.so.2
/usr/lib64/libfaad.la
/usr/lib64/libfaad.a
/usr/lib64/libfaad.so

Well, I think I solved this but it speaks not well of the Amarok devs in my uneducated opinion. I tried bunches of different players, all of which worked fine for m4a with AlienBob's ffmpeg package and/or with libfaad installed separately from his package. Only Amarok of all these players requires other codec packages to also be installed separately to play m4a: x264 and lame. And even after installing these you still have to remember to rescan your entire collection to actually get things working. Sheesh!
