Question amarok compile error


Hi i have slackware 10.2
so this is my problem:
i make configure in my amarok-1.4.5 dir and all is ok--> "Good - your configure finished. Start make now"
so i start make and i got this :
"metabundle.h:412: warning: `mutable' is not at beginning of declaration" can somebody help ?

You posted just a warning. Were there actual errors running make? If not try "make test". That is often an option with builds that play media. If the test passes then run "sudo make install". If there isn't a "make test" target, then run "sudo make install" anyway.

Sometime warnings are indicative of a potential bug in the code. But unless you want to debug the source, try building it anyway.

ok .. man my bad i dont know that a compiling of amarok takes that so time..

hehe ... you haven't compiled much yet have you ? Here's a good tip ... close your eyes during the make phase ... there will probably be many warnings Seriously, if it isn't an error that stops the make process ... don't worry about it.

Actually, I don't think it's warnings, I think it's just simply the gcc or g++ output from compiling. But he's right, if it doesn't stop, then 99% of the time, the program will be alright.

Amarok does require the kde libraries, so make sure those are installed first (If you have KDE running, then you don't need to worry about that).

However, why didn't you just use the .tgz package instead? It'll literally install in 30 seconds. (Unless you want to learn how to compile from scratch)
