Amarok 2.4 in -current

Thanks to Pat and the team for getting this in. All of the funky behaviors in the older versions have been fixed so far as I can tell, so I'm glad to see that it'll be part of the next stable Slackware. Slackware 13.2 (or whatever it's going to be) is shaping up to be an awesome release.

I use it some, but VLC is my main do everything app.

Fair enough, but it really doesn't matter who's using what. I was pleased to see the new Audacious find it's way into the tree even though I don't use it, because apparently it offers some real advantages for those that do. Things like this can only serve to make the next release a stronger package.

I got in a hurry when I posted that. I do use Amarok, but really not to its fullest. That said, I really don't use any of them to their fullest. I'm not much of a ripper. I probably own maybe 3 music cds, and a couple of movies. I probably should have just kept quiet. A multimedia guru I'm not.

I use Amarok to manage my Ipod. It's awesome that, not only can it put music onto the Ipod, it can rip the music off and into my local library.

It does have a few nice touches, the auto album art finder is cool. So is the lyrics/wikipedia window.

Do you do this with version 2.4 in -current?

I have many problems with external devices (iPod 1G and others). Not delete files, not copy into ipod, new way to copy that always wrong options, etc ...

It still seems to handle my Ipod ok, but it seems like .ogg files in my collection do not get recognised..
