I'm using Slackware 13.1 and I would like to configure my Amarok 2.3.0 to connect to my DAAP, the problem is that there is no new documentation in the Amarok's guide, what I found it is the steps for a older version and due to a change in the look some option are not there any more.
This is the link I'm referencing: http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Music_Sharing
I tried with Rhythmbox on Ubuntu and the shared folder is there on the list. Therefore it is not my server Freenas using Firefly fir DAAP.
I would like some steps to how to configure my Amarok.
Distribution: slackware64 13.37 and -current, Dragonfly BSD

I have been Googleing around for help with this one. Firstly as you have zero replies so far but also as I wasn't really aware of what DAAP was till now.
The links I have found, probably much as yourself, refer to old Amarok under KDE 3. Looking at Amarok 2.3.0 i can't find any place in the settings that refers to DAAP devices as was in the old Amarok. I even installed a mini DAAP server locally thinking that may be it would be detected and Amarok change it's interface somehow to reflect this - no luck there either.
I could be totally wrong here and hopefully someone with knowledge of these matters will chime in but it looks like Amarok 2.3.0 doesn't (yet ?) have this functionality built in. This won't be the only feature missing from the new Amarok as personally I think it's sadly lacking in some respects to what it was.
Thank you bgeddy for taking the time to search and dry something, yes the instructions are old regarding DAAP for Amarok.
I will continue to search make in IRC for an answer and as I get one I'll post it here.
Me to I did not know about DAAP before but when I tired this option on my Freenas, I realize that it is a good one for music.
If there others that have any ideas please let me know.
Does your system have the following installed and running- libnss-mdns and avahi-daemon? I found several references to DAAP problems by searching for DAAP on the Amarok support forum. Try searching there if this doesn't help. One of the more troubling things I saw was that DAAP is no longer being worked on.

I installed both of them (libnss-mdns and avahi-daemon) and started avahi-daemon but in Amarok I don't see anything.
I don't understand why Amarok doesn't have a new Wiki or Guide.....
