ALSA, PDE error, 2.6, enabling 5 channel on nForce

Ok, I've been trying to compile the 1.rc2 version of ALSA on my 2.6 ekrnel, and everytime I do a make after ./configure I end up with a PDE redefined error... I think PDE stands for proc dir entry or something like that, not sure... Any idea how to get rid of that crap and get it working??? The ALSA that comes with the 2.6 kernel works fine....

next, anybody know how I can get it to allow me to use my nForce's Line-in and mic as outputs and get 5.1 sound??? I hear that u must edit the asound.rc file or something like that to do it, but I have no idea what Im sposed to add there... lemme know.... thanks........

Karthik

PS - how the hell do I cut and paste from the console/xterm to the GUI??? Or isnt that possible???
