[SOLVED] Alien's 64bit wine, and World of Warcraft

I hve to start all over again on my SW install, all my notes,etc, are gone. So...

Will be installing multilib to the standard/full SW13/64

Will this version of wine work with WoW? Installing, etc. Or would I need to go with a 32-bit version?

What are the steps?

Sorry to sound like such a noob, but due to hw failures, I have to start from scratch, and my memory is old...

Well it looks like the latest version will work just fine, as long as you have the compatibility libs before installing wine. I also install openal as 32-bit and 64-bit just in case some games need it, but I don't think it's necessary either.

Just got finished, and works PERFECT so far.

He's my order:

Installed SW 13/64, full install
Installed multilib, per Alien Bob's wiki
Downloaded/installed Nvidia drivers, using their *.run package
Installed Alien Bob's wine 64 package
Ran the WoW installers, using the remounts/etc, explained in MANY places on the web
Ran the updates/patches for WoW (Which I have saved on DVD..Dang glad I did, or HOURS downloading time)
Edited the start and config.wtf file for "-opengl"

And away I went.

Best install I have had w/wine and WoW. I remember the install w/12.2 and an older version of wine was a REAL pain.

Now, to go run my 80 Paladin and Hunter

Sorry about your lose.

That's one of the reasons that I maintain a system log for each machine that I maintain. Sure a pain but whenever the snake raises it's head then I cut it off by doing a manual search via the pages.

I've got the same problem 'older timers disease', memory fades in an out.

Seriously though I've always used a System(s) Log/Lab Log and even a daily diary when I was still at the LAB. Now, I just use my System Logs to aid.

Well, I had everything backed up to another HDD, but when #1 failed, it SOMEHOW took #2 with it..(Windows, for you...sigh)
