What is the point of this thread?

kooru 02-25-2013 06:43 AM

Is this thread good or evil? :D

mlangdn 02-25-2013 06:52 AM

Looks to me like one to ride the river with. He'd be the one to shout "Damn that was fun - let's do it again!".

Bazzaah 02-25-2013 06:55 AM

Wow, cool thread.

I'm sure Eric/Alien_Bob can defend himself if he feels the need, so I'm out.

Humour, I hope.

mrclisdue 02-25-2013 08:11 AM

Egads! Horsemeat has been found in Ikea Swedish meatballs. What's next? The wooden clothes horse bought from Ikea, and lovingly-assembled, is made with woodpecker?

If you stare at Eric's pic for too long, a sock will go missing from your dryer, and re-appear in the closet as a coat hanger.

Never question the inner-workings of the church of the sub-genius.

Praise Bob.

Horses are perfectly etible. It could have been worse ... it could have been dog meat. They keep blaming Eastern Europe, but the horses here hardly have any meat on their bones. No, it's doggies that are plentiful here. Truckloads of friendly doggies (may have rabies ... in fact 99% sure they do).

GazL 02-25-2013 09:31 AM

Aren't dogs eaten in certain parts of Asia?

There was a report on the radio the other day saying that dog meat had been found in tins of "Dog Meat" in Spain. I guess you can't complain about mislabelling there. it's exactly what it says on the tin. ;)

bosth 02-25-2013 09:35 AM

Actually they are a delicacy in parts of Vietnam and maybe Korea.

Love the pic you posted of Nic Fiend. Oh the 80's.

irgunII 02-25-2013 10:04 AM

Horse meat is good! So is dog meat and monkey meat (Phillipines '80 USN).

I think the real question the OP should have asked was - Was the dog or horse you're eating a real criminal?

Yes, that is a keen observation. Case in point, you can't tell a book by its cover.

I don't think I'll post them, but in my drivers license photo I look like a drug addict. In my passport photo I look like a phycho killer. There's also a photo that I used in various online applications where I look like an evil mastermind ... much like you do in that photo.

This must mean that I'm actually a nice guy :)

In many parts. Although the meat is quite average.

A bad criminal. As opposed to a good criminal?

And Laos and a couple of Thai provinces along the Laos border. Except for those two provinces the Thai do not eat dogs, but the people of Northeastern Thailand eat just about anything else that walks, crawls, flies or swims.
Every now and then the Thai press reports the police have stopped yet another convoy of trucks heading for Vietnam with a cargo of live canines.

Randicus Draco Albus 02-25-2013 04:45 PM

In China some restaurants hang skinned dog carcasses outside to dry in the sun. The strange thing is that in some cities dog meat is exorbitantly priced. My guess is the people in those areas consider it a delicacy. I do not know why, since the meat is pretty band. Unlike crocodile, which is delicious.

ponce 02-25-2013 04:57 PM

My grandma told me that during WWII here also rats were considered delicatessen.

let me say that I consider myself lucky, because I can choose what to eat, many people can't do it (if they got any food at all).

Which animals are considered food, which pets and which unclean, is culturally determined. Hindus do not eat cow, Jews and Muslims do not eat pig, North Americans and Europeans do not eat dog and cat, whale is (surprise) eaten by coastal populations. That does not mean dog, pig and/or cow is food for the impoverished. Except for creatures whose flesh is poisonous, there are no animals that should or should not be eaten. That "choice" is made by one's culture.

Habitual 02-25-2013 07:15 PM

He looks like a saint compared to this guy.

Beelzebud 02-25-2013 07:57 PM

If he's evil, it's the good kind of evil!

kite 02-25-2013 09:21 PM

I tried snake, dog, but they are not our regular food. Some people here think they are very good supplement for their body in winter cold season. I swear I will not try dog meat any more because I am not comfortable eating them. But for snake, why not? People eat frog here, but I dislike frog meat and never touched them.

Bindestreck 02-26-2013 02:34 AM

You know I was in the OR once and they were removing a gallbladder with an electrocauter. The smell of frying liver was delicious ... my stomach was growling.

Mm, that sounds delicious, makes me hungry. I'm going to have early lunch now.

kikinovak 02-26-2013 06:14 AM

Judging from this thread, I guess there must be at least some truth about Open Source anthropologist Caitlyn Martin's findings on the subject of Slackware users being essentially an uncivilized tribe eating little kids for breakfast.

brianL 02-26-2013 06:28 AM

I've probably unknowingly eaten quite a lot of horsemeat. Has it affected me in any way? Nay, nay, neigh.

Outrageous! I'm offended by even the suggestion. Slackware users wouldn't dream of eating children before lunch. It's just not done!
Well, ok,... maybe if there's some left-overs from supper, but only then.

Beelzebud 02-27-2013 04:20 PM

Pan fried in some olive oil, with some fresh herbs... Delicious!

w1k0 02-27-2013 05:29 PM

Just for your knowledge...

1. Alien (but no Bob).

2. Bob (but no Alien).

3. Three friendly looking mugshots:

Ted

David

Aileen

Don't forget folks that if you encounter a hungry mountain lion (cougar, etc.) or perhaps an equally hungry (or pissed off) grizzly, Kodiak or, you know, brown bear you could be lunch or dinner for a couple of days.

They aren't all that picky.

audriusk 02-28-2013 01:09 PM

I doubt there's any Bob that looks more evil than this one.

Assuming that the Holy Spirit is female the answer is “Yes”. But we don’t know whether the Holy Spirit is female.

I don’t know the gender of the Holy Spirit. I doubt you know that. We can be sure that God is Ted and Jesus is David. As for Aileen we can’t be sure. She can be or cannot be the Holy Ghost.

I’d like to apologize but I’m not too proficient in the scholastic considerations.
