again gdk-pixbuf.....since last updates of current grayscale-support lost

Hi, after last set of current updates I ran into this bug:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=785171

For example: gpicview cannot load grayscale-jpeg images and similar images are not loaded/seen when set as background in XFCE desktop.

Do we need to go back to a previous version of gdk-pixbuf?

Rob

FWIW the patch attached to the bug report seems to work fine here (grayscale support reinstated).

Fab, so that can be incorporated then by @volkerdi in a new official package I presume.

One might giess why it was removed in the first place, like the bug report hints...

It seems one was fantasizing about the possibility of 9-color components passing the test and not realizing the code "cinfo->output_components == 4 ? TRUE : FALSE" was merely checking for the presence of an alpha channel (4 color components instead of 3 or 1). Then, by explicitly checking for either 3 or 4 color-components they missed the grayscale (1 color)....
