after compiling from sorce / uninstall???


hey people,

i was just interested, after compiling from sorce, how to do uninstall things?

thanks in advance

Use checkinstall (d/l it) to install it. Then it can be uninstalled like a regular package.

If you haven't already installed do as noted above, use checkinstall or a similar process. If you have already installed: if you still have the file that you built the package from, try typing as root make uninstall

To uninstall after installing a package from source go to the source directory and run
Code:
make uninstall
easy as pie!!

Keep in mind though, some source packages don't contain a `make uninstall` part of the makefile. So it won't always work like that.
