adding packages after installation and partiton lists?

i installed swaret and did an update. it told me:

You need 'bc' in order to use swaret!
'bc' can be found in the Slackware Packages Directory: slackware/ap!

i tried to use pkgtool but i couldnt find an option to add packages from the cd. what the best way to solve this?

i have a externel hd and need to find out how linux has labeled the partitions on it. how can i do this?

thanks

installpkg /path/to/cd/slackware/ap/bc-*tgz

Cheers,
Tink

P.S.: I'm of the opinion that swaret sucks :}

Never mind my rant, I'm a hard-liner and think
that ALL automated upgrade processes should
be shot ;)

If you haven't figured out yet, connect the drive and run fdisk -l /dev/the-drive

Where the-drive is the device file for your drive, that depend if it is usb, firewire...output from dmsg help after connect the drive.

Automated updates can be very dangerous. And they should be completely avoided when you are talking about servers.
