Adding Java to PATH and installing

How do you finish up installing java for use by the system not neccessarily the browser java's site says I will see the text done...Well I haven't and it's done extracting and thats all it's told me to do never told me if I need to run anything else but told me I will see done when it's done...So where is it? Also I need to add java to my path for use for my user? currently where he java jre1.7.0_09 is in /home/shawn/programs/java/ inside that directory is jre1.7.0_09 so what do I need to install and what would my path be (assuming I need to set my path to an executeable file that is) thanks!

I assume your using 14? If so the proper way to install java is to use the slackbuild in /extra. Read the README first!!!!!!!!!
