Adding a KDE menu to gnome menu

I just installed Slackware 9.1. I prefer to use GNOME as my desktop environment, but i also like to have access to some KDE apps as well. Is there an easy way to add a KDE menu to the gnome applications menu? I did a clean install of Slack 9.1 but I have used 9.0. If I remember correctly there was a KDE menu within GNOME in that version. Also since I think this is kind of related. In the GNOME foot menu my Lock Screen and Log out icons are missing. They were there on the initial install, but after a reboot they are gone, just paper with red x icon is there now.

i don't know about adding things to the menu (i've been wondering how to do that myself) but anyway, u can still use those kde apps through the terminal or if u use them often, make a new launcher on your desktop

to find out what command starts those kde apps, go into kde, look in the control panel or right click on the kde menu and click configure; then just browse through the menu tree and click on specific programs and look at what command is issued

then in gnome, to create a launcher, rightclick on the desktop, click "new launcher" and enter the info
it often helps to run these things in the terminal too

you may want to check out The Linux Documentation Project to see if they have something on gnome menus

Hey not true!
I have the same problem here, I tried the same thing and it doesnt work.

I use a brazillian ABNT-2 keyboard, and the only way to set it was using Kxkb (setting the proper layout). That was no problem in slack 9.0 but when I installed 9.1 I noticed the KDE menu was removed, then in terminal I got command not found when running kxkb (worked in slack 9).

Im not sure about other apps (konqueror seemed to work...), but kxkb is still present on KDE.

Also, what about the log out? I cannot turn off or restart my computer from there anymore...
