Add drivers during installation

How do you add a driver before the installation of Slackware?

Can you do it in the shell once it boots to the bootable CD? How?

Hi,

which drivers do you need to add "during installation"?

Cheers,

It is a driver for my Promise SATA chipset... I've tested the driver and I know it works on redhat... I'm just wonderinf if there is a specific tool for adding your specific driver. Are the specific kernel disks the only way I can add support for different perifierals?

Also... I have heard about people making 2.6.1 custom boot disks for the installation, but I haven't been able to find any, and I haven't been able to find any resources on creating them. Any suggestions on where I could look?
