acer AL1714 xorg.conf settings
Just purchased Acer lcd above and cant find settings /etc/X11/xorg.conf in SW10.2. Does anyone have experience with this 17in lcd monitor. My 1st lcd monitor. Using Asus GFTi4200(nvidia) card with 128mb ram. Used H22-82 and V56-76 refresh rates with nvidia driver as per manual but screen is too large. W2X and LN3 setup easy. Tried similar ones to debian LN3 but no luck. Any help pls. Thanx.

I would suggest leaving out the vert and hoz refresh rate from the monitor settings
and edit the following section in xorg.conf
Code:
Subsection "Display"
Depth 24
Modes "1280x1024" #if that is the resolution you wanted
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
EndSection

Acer lcd xorg.conf
Thanx carboncopy that tip sorted things out. Funny that #out Hz and V rates shld fix things since Debian didn't need that and it also uses Xorg. Thanx again.

As f/up after carboncopy's suggestion desktop is ok but Libranet3 and W2X desktops are gorgeous. LN3 xorg.conf file has H and V setting as suggested by Acer. Putting back H and V refresh rates gave same ok desktop. So still looking for better looking desktop. Even Kanotix-live cd desktop looks gorgeous!
