about patches in slack 10

i've already installed slackware 10.0 on my notebook... and while looking for things in the slackware website... i saw a lot of patches available...

can i download the patches for 10.1 instead of the patches in 10.0 even if my slack version is 10.0???

You will find that you need to update some of the libraries.

Nope. Packages with security patches are built on and for given release version. This is one of the main reasons why release versions do exist

But on the other hand you can download them freely or even install in another version but be prepared to take the consequences

If you require 10.1 patches for some reason why don't you upgrade to 10.1 release first ?

am using dialup to access internet... broadband is still quite expensive here (philippines)... and downloading another iso (slack 10.1) is quite expensive... anyway... maybe i'll try updating through linuxpackages.net...
