About E17 for Slackware 14.{0,1}

After waiting for a few months, Enlightenment 0.17.5 and Slackware 14.1 have been released almost in same time. I guess it's a plot...

For Slackware 14.0 users

I pushed SlackE17 0.17.5 two days ago. It's available for i486, x86_64 and arm at the usual place. This is the last release of SlackE17 for Slackware 14.0 as I'm focusing now on 14.1. Anyway, you can still grab the source tarball of the next release and build it by yourself if you want to stick with Slackware 14.0 or earlier. The source package contains everything: slackbuilds, source tarballs, patch, documentation and useful scripts.

For Slackware 14.1 users

I recompiled the packages against Slackware 14.1 today and put them in a subdirectory on Sourceforge. So beware of downloading the right version, check with the README file. I didn't plan this kind of coincidence :-D
x86_64 and i486 are already available, but the arm build will need more time.

Slackpkg+

It's really great, and now you can use it to get (and update) E17 easily. I put it in test for a SlackE17 repository and it seems to work well. So if you prefer to use slackpkg, you can add one of these lines to your /etc/slackpkg/slackpkgplus.conf

Code:

MIRRORPLUS['slacke17']=http://ngc891.blogdns.net/pub/slacke17/slackware-$VERSION/
MIRRORPLUS['slacke17']=http://ngc891.blogdns.net/pub/slacke17/slackware64-$VERSION/
MIRRORPLUS['slacke17']=http://ngc891.blogdns.net/pub/slacke17/slackwarearm-$VERSION/

with $VERSION being 14.0 or 14.1. Then, you add 'slacke17' to REPOPLUS and after 'slackpkg update', you'll be able to install/upgrade your E17 packages. The repository supports gpg signature.

This way is nice, unfortunately I'm self-hosted so the bandwidth will not be as big as Sourceforge, don't expect lightning download speed.

Any comments or questions welcome about this project :-)

My SlackE17 has been quite happily running on --Current through multiple updates since April.

Nice piece of work. Thanks.
