A Little History, Please?
 

I'm just curious as to how "Slackware, Inc." started in Walnut Creek, California or was it Concord, CA, then moved to Brentwood, CA (not Hollywood, but the Brentwood just down Highway 4 from Concord), but Mr. Volkerding lives in the Mid-west?

He moved there from California a couple years back.

I believe it is Fargo N. Dakota or thereabouts. His father has a Dentistry there.

Around ~2005 or so he was also battling a rather mysterious illness, which caused him to temporarily stop work on Slackware (it was left up to those who helped him maintain the distro, and put out security patches while he took a minor hiatus). I am rather surprised that was taken out of the article on him on Wikipedia.

I hope PV has that illness taken care of, he's still a young man. Also, just saw a photo of him....he looks a lot like my little brother, who is about 6 years older than him I'd guess. :D :D

As far as we know, there have not been any more reports of him feeling ill, and we can assume that since he has been 'back in the saddle' so to speak, for quite a while now, I think it is safe to say he is feeling well.
