A "DropBox" question, error: Can't sync:".directory":access denied.

I guess that this is a permission issue.

How do I give Dropbox permission to the directory and not everyone else in the world?

Is that even possible?

My DropBox folder lives on a separate partition, sda5.

Thanks,

As root you have to give permission to the user who is running dropbox I assume your self

IE:

Lets say your drop box folder is under /media/hdd0

Than from command line as root do chown -R robert:robert /media/hd0/dropbox
or for access to the whole dir than chown -R robert:robert /media/hd0

Than your be able to access the folder under the partition using dropbox

Thanks SeRi@lDiE.

I did:
Code:

#: chown -R rob /data
Then, using Dolphin, I applied permissions to all sub folders & files of the 'data' folder - the 'DropBox' folder is a sub folder of 'data'

Now, DropBox shows a status of 'All files up to date'. :)

Thanks again,

Rob.
