9.0 Installer Freezes

I just downloaded the Slackware 9 ISO and tried to install it. Twords the end of the 'a' disk-set the installer froze while I was oking a package to be installed(I was using newbie mode). I checked out the other virtual terminals and they were all functiona(so it was the installer iteself that froze)l. VT 4 had an error message from mount that said something about not being able to mount hda3(the destination partition) and improper parameters. I have similar problems with other linux distros(installer freezing for no apparent reason) but Slack 8.1 installed fine. It could be a corrupt ISO but I checked the MD5sum of the ISO(using an MD5sum windows port)(but it could also be that I used a bad CD-R).
