Where are those lines supposed to be? No, I don't have them. Can you tell me what sections that goes in? I.e. mouse device section, kbd, video card?
I had just got the whole xorg.conf pasted and I hit RIGHT instead of DOWN and lost it all :/
I'll try again shortly, but meanwhile, my xorg.conf is the same as it was last time I posted it. Where's that? I dunno, but I'll post it again.

I'm still running current64 as of Dec 8th updates (the mirror I use hasn't had the latest ones yet).

I had some problems with NVIDIA 260.19.12. Upgrading to 260.19.21 seems to have settled things down.

I don't have a xorg.conf. With the exception of setting the keyboard all I have is a,
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/80-nvidia-driver.conf:

OK, UseEvent doesn't help it, but it does either lock the machine up, or leave the VT's blank after exiting X11.

I'm not sure if the packages I mentioned above contain the culprit - it may have been an earlier update, but I thought I ahd rebooted since the previous update.
I'm going to take a break, I gotta go do some other things, and later, after I've reverted things to get it working normallly again, I'll update.

Thanks you guys - of course, feel free to add stuff meanwhile.

FWIW my Slackware64 install with -current updated to 10 December and nVidia 260.19.21 is working just fine with my nVidia 7300 LE. I am running the stock 2.6.35.7 generic kernel.

Thanks for input thus far you guys!

No progress yet - been doing other things, and tstarted working on some hackish scripts which when complete (and de-hackish-ified) will make it easier to downgrade recently upgraded packages in -current. Probably this already exists but soon it will exist again, my way.

meanwhile, posting this updateE FRom my roommates funny little Mint EEE laptop - and not liking it, this keyboard is TERRIBLE, and touchpad acts as though it is a proximity sensor.

Progress report tomorrow!

EDIT:
It's not quite tomorrow (too early yet), but I have at least discovered that if I run X11 on only the LHS display, everything works fine. Enabling the right-hand-side of things causes the situation to go down hill.

That xorg.conf is excessive. In newer slackware you don't need all those options, maybe cutting down on them will help. I also see many duplicate sections.

I make an xorg.conf using nvidia-settings as root, and I export it to xorg.conf.

Actually, if you look closely, you see there isn't as much duplication as you think - the nearly duplicate serverlayout sections are so I can start X with different layouts (there are three layouts there). The device sections are required so I can specify which port on a given card I want to activate. Both monitors are defined, and each input device. Basically no extra frills there that I can see.

That doesn't work here. I have tried it dozens and dozens of times. No matter what I do with nvidia-settings, it won't make my stuff work right. So, while the xorg.conf may have a couple remnants of nvidia-settings having touched it at some point, it's mostly created by me.

On further thought too, I am realizing that I have been going about this problem slightly wrong. Since an upgrade allegedly caused my problems, I shouldn't be worrying about whether xorg.conf is right or not; if it was OK yesterday, it should be fine today - I should focus on the upgrades.

*However*, despite the paragraph above, I have discovered that I can run X on my left monitor, but not both or problems begin. I should verify hardware: my next thing to try is starting X on only the right monitor. If that works, I'd be more sure it's a new software problem - but if it doesn't work, maybe the right-hand video card is toast :|

Something was odd too: I never ever see the nvidia logo when I start X - but today I tried to start X on a second X session on another VT (while I have a session running here on VT7), and what I got was two full-screen nvidia logos and a locked up machine.

Well, If I can prove each monitor+card works alone, but just not both together, I'll use one monitor, re-install everything to bring -current back up to date, and start examining (downgrading) the recent packages one by one and see if any of that allows X to work on both displays again.

I only wanted to comment that I'm running slackware64-current with the binary nvidia drivers and a dual-monitor setup and I have absolutely no problems. The system is up-to-date.

Driver version: 260.19.21
Card: GeForce GTS 250

Main monitor connected to the DVI port and second monitor connected to the HDMI port.

I haven't noticed any problems with my nvidia 8400M GS with 260.19.21. I'm up-to-date with all of the slackware64-current updates as well.

Well, thanks again for further input guys.. I just tried starting X on the right card+monitor only; while it *does* eventually put the image on screen, it's SUPER slooow, and I get more of that stuff about:

I don't think the RHS card is toast. I think it's looking a whole lot like more of this:

At the moment I'm running X on just the LHS.

Currently 100% up to date with -current 64 as of 5 mins ago, and using latest blob driver (yes, just re-installed it fresh) version .21 (not the beta .26). Time to start playing with Slackware package versions...
