Oops.. just saw you have a 9000. Only thing I could suggest is to not compile agp gart in your kernel and try using the one with the driver? I apologize, I just don't know how to get that particular driver working. Can anyone else offer some help?

I had all that set when I wanted to try the radeon driver... but like I said it still locks up my system when i startx. The .config file I sent you was what works for the fglrx driver...

Sigh... while waiting to see if this could get worked out... I downgraded to 2.4.24 and everything works. 3D and all.

So untill this bug gets fixed I will stick with the old kernel.

Thanks again for your help

Yea.. the only problem I'm having with 2.6.1 is power management. ACPI won't suspend and APM won't shutdown anymore.. wtf?!

Oh well.. at least we tried right?

Yah ... we did.

When these bugs get fixed then all will be bliss... but that may not be untill 2.6.23 or so...

I am happy with 2.4 untill then...

Actually, I got everything working now.. I found SMP and APM don't like each other. But I shouldn't have had SMP Compiled in anyway.. LOL

Ahh joy
