13.37: Mutt reads mail spool very slowly...

Running 13.37 with either the stock 2.6.37.6 or 2.6.38.4 from /testing and the stock mutt I am having to wait 3-8 seconds while mutt reads my mail spool. Nothing special about the mail spool:

I am unsure as to how I can troubleshoot this problem, has anybody else experienced this?

Edit: Hmmm..... on closer examination read speed is actually fine, pressing F5 to refresh shows the spool immediately. Some odd refresh problem, this with xfce...

Sigh....... looks like disabling compositing in xorg.conf solves the problem..... if only I had worked on this a little longer before posting ........
