13.37 ipv6 and samba issue

have built a new system with 13.37. samba shares will not map. the following is from the log:

Code:

[2012/10/03 15:30:22.433034,  0] lib/util_sock.c:1514(matchname)
  matchname: host name/address mismatch: ::ffff:192.168.1.50 != nas3
[2012/10/03 15:30:22.433568,  0] lib/util_sock.c:1635(get_peer_name)
  Matchname failed on nas3 ::ffff:192.168.1.50
[2012/10/03 15:30:22.451331,  0] lib/util_sock.c:1514(matchname)
  matchname: host name/address mismatch: ::ffff:192.168.1.50 != nas3
[2012/10/03 15:30:22.451857,  0] lib/util_sock.c:1635(get_peer_name)
  Matchname failed on nas3 ::ffff:192.168.1.50

i have a 13.1 system with no issues. both boxes are using the defaults for ipv6.

the 13.37 smb.conf is almost identical to the 13.1 version (name
changes only.)
Code:

[global]
        workgroup = WORKGROUP
        server string = nas4
        log file = /var/log/samba.nas4
        max log size = 50
        load printers = No
        local master = No
        dns proxy = No
        hosts allow = 192.168.1.  127.
        security = user

[homes]
        comment = Home Directories
        read only = No
        browseable = No

[nas4]
        comment = nas4 share
        path = /storage
        valid users = nas4
        force group = users
        read only = No

the most published solution is to add this to smb.conf:
Code:

    bind interfaces only = Yes
    interfaces = 127.0.0.1  192.168.1.52

this certainly stopped the messages, but mount still fails with no
such device.

i think all the ports are open (without the bind interfaces only):
Code:

tcp        0      0 :::139                  :::*                    LISTEN      2132/smbd
tcp        0      0 :::445                  :::*                    LISTEN      2132/smbd
udp        0      0 192.168.1.255:137      0.0.0.0:*                          2135/nmbd
udp        0      0 192.168.1.52:137        0.0.0.0:*                          2135/nmbd
udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:137            0.0.0.0:*                          2135/nmbd
udp        0      0 192.168.1.255:138      0.0.0.0:*                          2135/nmbd
udp        0      0 192.168.1.52:138        0.0.0.0:*                          2135/nmbd
udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:138            0.0.0.0:*                          2135/nmbd

i've set this up a bunch of times before, this is just the first with 13.37. i'm out of ideas. any suggestions?

13.37 ipv6 and samba issue

i've made some headway.

it looks like the ipv6 name mismatch errors can be ignored. can any one confirm that?

Yes, you can safely ignore that.
You can also add an entry to /etc/hosts that will cut down the log spam.
Code:

::ffff:192.168.1.50    nas3
