1280x800 framebuffer?

I got a new Dell 700m and put Slack 10.0 on it and I am trying to get the framebuffer console to display in the monitor native res at 1280x800. So far I have had no luck in finding a "vga=###" code for it or anything. I found these two articles but they didn't help me solve my problem.

I would post the links to the articles that i've found but apparantly I cant use URLs in my posts until i have at least 5 posts....that really helps....

I really need to take a break...I've been at this for a few hours...wow...head hurts....
