10.2 boot up problem

lately when i fire up my nix box slack does a hd check and it always finds that my drives where not cleanly unmount. "dev/hda?/ was not cleanly unmounted, checked forced" the computer will basically restart at least 3 times sometimes up to 6 before i will make it to the login screen. Last time this happen it got to the point were all it would do was check each partition and then restart and bring me to the linux disk management. anyone know why this keeps happening?

Try using the utility provided by your hard drive manufacturer to verify your disks. For example, Maxtor has an excellent utility called PowerMax.

You may have some faulty blocks/sectors. Mechanical problems on hard drives are a pain. Been there, done that. Good luck!
