10/100 card, are the drivers the same
I just bought a Belkin 10/100 PCI network card (bargan bin 5$ kindof thing). in their documentation on the CD it says to use the "rtl8139.o" kernel module. but all i have is the "rtl8150.o" module, will this work for my card, or should i go to the troble to compile the driver they have on the cd (rtl8139.c)
I ask because the documents on the CD seem kind of old (has instructions for redhat 6.x) and im wondering if rtl8150 is a newer version of the same driver, or if the hardware I bought is so outdated that slack didnt come with the driver.
PS. I bought it for computer related meetings (in my local LUG) and the guy there can teach me configure the network, but I would like the hardware to be working before I get there; just one less thing to have to do.
