[SOLVED] multilib+Thunderbird+Lightening = ?
 

Howdy everyone,

Title says it all, I can't figure out how to get Lightening working with Thunderbird on a 13.1 multilib system. So...... any/all help is appreciated. I'm quite sure it's just something easy/small that I've missed or haven't thought of, but then again.... I'm drinking today. ;)

Go here: http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozi...ning/releases/

Then start digging through the directory structure. The native 64-bit .xpi files are in the

/contrib/linux-x86_64

folder for each release.

Some of the releases only work with some versions of Thunderbird. I'm using the 64-bit version of Lightning 1.0b1 with Thunderbird 3.0.8 on Slackware64-13.1 -stable.

I have installed and enabled multi-lib, but that has nothing to do with the 64-bit software like Thunderbird and its plug-ins (I also use Enigmail).

If you're on -current, you may need a different version of Lightning to go with the newer version of Thunderbird there.

Thanks Lufbery, I have been checking out a few links that led me to that site but just couldn't figure a way to save the .xpi from FF to install into Thunderbird. A little trial and error and the proper version of Lightening, and I'm all good.

FWIW, the site that led me to releases.mozilla.org did not have the parent directory that your link did - so once again thanks much!
