Exclamation [SOLVED] claws-mail 3.15 seg faults

Been using claws-mail for many years, and 3.13.2 works fine on Salix 14.2 (x86_64) , 3.14 works fine on Slackware 14.2 (x86_64) however, when I use Robbys prebuilt 3.15 or build it from slackbuilds, I keep getting seg faults...and it will not load.

Anyone else notice this? I installed it on Mageia 6 (via VM) and 3.15 seg faults there as well.

I'm using claws-mail-3.14.1. No issues on Slackware-current as of 7/10/2017 when I rebuilt it to fix the pdf viewer plugin.

I just emailed the maintainer on slackbuilds.org, so hopefully we can figure this out, however, I am thinking that since this was reproduced on different distros with the same version of claws-mail that it might need to get bumped up to claws devs....

I didn't get an email but willysr referred me to this thread. Are you using the libetpan version I distribute as well? I've not had any segfaults (nor reports other than this one), but I'm running it on -current. Any further information about where it segfaults, what's happening when it does, etcetera?

Hi Robby,

I emailed the SlackBuild maintainer "Erik". Yes it was your version of libetpan and claws, then I also built both from SlackBuilds.org with the same result. I am in the process of rebuilding both on a clean system (VM) and will try it again, if it segfaults I will post the error code....

Whats strange is that it also happened on Mageia which was also 3.15 but they use libetpan 1.7.2-2.

Solved

Rebuild finished, upgraded the packages (claws-mail 3.15 and libetpan 1.8) and all is working now. perhaps it had to be built on a "clean system"? Still does not explain why it also seg. fault on Mageia but thats another story.
