There is a custom install of slackware 14.0 (it is 32 bit, though this APU is built for 64 bit), and I really don't remember all of the packages that went into it. Ask, and I will see if they are installed.
Other Details: Well, I really want to get html5 to work just fine, so I can be alright as flash player has finally kicked the bucket.
Thanks for dealing with a not-so-competent user of slack.
Ok, makes a lot of sense. And, when the Firefox nightly says Linux (Intel), I hope that doesn't mean I have to have an intel processor? If you look at the link, it shows that this is using an AMD A8 4500.

I'm thinking it should be x86 and x86_64 instead of Intel. It is most likely just to indicate they aren't for ARM-based chips.
Either I wasn't clear enough or I misunderstood your response...
The "Intel" builds on Mozilla's site are most likely for both AMD and Intel, just not for ARM-based computers like the Raspberry PI or a Chromebook. So, it should work fine on your machine
EDIT: Just tested it on my Athlon X2 6400+ and the nightly starts right up.
Works for me using the 35.0.1 binaries from Mozilla repackaged as Slackware packages, plus various GStreamer libs. I have gst-ffmpeg-0.10.13-x86_64-2_SBo, gst-plugins-bad-0.10.23-x86_64-3_SBo, gst-plugins-base-0.10.36-x86_64-2, gst-plugins-good-0.10.31-x86_64-3, gst-plugins-ugly-0.10.19-x86_64-2_SBo and gstreamer-0.10.36-x86_64-1 installed.
Interestingly enough, Firefox ESR 31.6.0 on Slackware64 14.1 works fine with youtube html5. Caveat: HTML5 video must be encoded via open source codecs, i.e webm (VP8), ogg etc. h.264 video will not work.
@Gooplusplus scroll up and you will see that it is already working for me. Here is that post of mine again, just above yours:

Of course your suggestion worked in Ubuntu, Crunchbang and Debian for you as they are all based off the same thing, Debian. Slackware is not based on Debian (it predates it). It doesn't use APT, synaptic or .deb packages. Its package naming conventions and contents are often quite different.
For Slackware, the actually requirements are the Gstreamer packages already found in Slackware, plus gst-ffmpeg. That should allow you to play the full range of media. It certainly does for me.
By the way, we have had this topic before. From another thread:

Or maybe you could have read one post up and realised I already have this working. While you are at it, perhaps you should try a solution in Slackware before suggesting it on the Slackware forums?
