movies in linux??


Im running KDE with RH 8.0
i got problem when trying to play a .mpg or .avi file in Kaboodle and Noatun, it loads the file but when i click on play nothing happends .clues anybody??

yup. noatun and Kaboodle are extremely basic and not designed to play films etc..

Red Hat stopped distributing software that uses the MPEG algorithms to prevent possible legal problems over the MPEG patents. You can go over to www.freshrpms.net and download the rpm for `mplayer'. I know it plays mpeg files but haven't tried it with any avi files yet.
