xfce desktop icons

How could I make desktop icons in xfce4.2?

Youll need an external program like e.g. idesk

Or even Rox Pinboard...

Is there a rpm for FC4 for either of these applications? How would I install it (rpm -ivh xxx.rpm)?

You install an rpm the way you said, (or via graphical tools).

Finding rpm's is a skill you need to learn yourself. Google is your friend. e.g. a query of "idesk rpm" might reveal the information you seek.
