the driver provided for windows which works in windows 98 is from zydas (zd1201) so i seems zydas techology is the vendor who manufactured the chipset for twinmos g240. why is my usb failing to recognize my hardware?

Code:
>dmesg | grep APIC
Local APIC diabled by BIOS - reenabling.
Found and enabled local APIC!
Using local APIC timer interrupts.
calibrating APIC timer...
now my question is how do i disable apic? or set noapic to the kernel? what specific steps do i need to take?

Code:
zd1201u.inf USB 0ACE 1201
so i think this points to vender and product ids. any idea how to possibly manually load them into /proc/bus/usb/devices?
